About Highland Yoga

Highland Yoga is a community focused, Atlanta-based studio with four physical locations and a virtual online studio.

We opened the doors to our flagship Virginia Highlands location in 2015 with humble beginnings when our owner and lead teacher, Elsie, had a dream of turning her passion for yoga into a sacred space where people could unplug from their day and have an hour to breathe. She was practicing law at the time, and after long stressful days at the office found herself craving a combination of physically intense asana that truly connected her body and mind. In 2015, she and her husband, John, decided to open a studio and share her vision with the community - and the rest is history. 

Our Classes

Highland Yoga's classes are powerful and unique, combining vigorous flow, creative sequencing, and mindfulness practices - all with a focus on true breath to movement style vinyasa. This helps our students develop a mind, body, and spirit connection and empowers them to find their strongest selves and live bigger. Even if it's just for one hour, your time with Highland Yoga will help clear your mind and build a strength from inside out that you can take with you and transform your life off the mat.

 Our students are our number one priority, and we want our classes to feel like a time where you can step away from your busy life, become completely immersed in the present moment, and connect to yourself on a deeper level. Our teachers will encourage you to explore your limits while honoring your body and using your breath as your guide. Our goal, above all, is to help you find mental clarity, calm, and peace.

At Highland Yoga, we aim to create a safe space for exploration of the body and mind suitable for students at all skill levels. Our teachers are dedicated to bringing their extensive training and knowledge about the practice to each  class. You don’t have to be flexible, strong, balanced, or even  focused to try one of our classes—just show up! We will teach you the rest.

 

Our Virtual Studio

Our library of hundreds of classes from over a dozen instructors is available on-demand, 24-hours-a-day on any device with an internet browser and wi-fi connection. Plus members can choose from 25+ livestream options every single week for a live studio experience without the travel time. As a virtual studio member you can practice on your own schedule – even if that means the best time for you to do your flow is at 4am.
